Welcome to the Generation Wellness Blog

I am so glad you are here. I’m Jennifer Soto, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and founder of Generation Wellness in Amarillo, Texas.
For more than 20 years, I have cared for patients through many seasons of life, and that experience has shaped the way I understand health, prevention, and healing. Over the years, I have learned that good care starts with listening, asking the right questions, and taking the time to understand what each patient is experiencing.
A Personal Commitment to Preventive Care
My commitment to preventive care is personal. As a female who grew up in the Hispanic culture, I witnessed how family history, daily habits, and limited access to preventive guidance can shape a person’s health long before symptoms appear.
In many ways, the life my parents lived and the choices they had to make each day placed me on a similar path. When I lost my father to a heart attack caused by complications from diabetes, it changed the way I looked at health care. It showed me how important it is to:
- Pay attention early.
- Ask the right questions.
- Help people understand their bodies before problems become more serious.
Your story may not look exactly like mine, but many of us know what it feels like to come from families where health was shaped by life circumstances before we had the knowledge or support to change them. That is why I believe one person choosing to care for their health can lay the cornerstone for the generations who come after us.
The Meaning Behind "Generation Wellness"
The name Generation Wellness comes from my passion for helping people see how one person’s choice to care for their health can anchor a family, improve daily health habits at home, and bless generations to come.
When a patient learns what is happening in their body, that knowledge can change:
- Daily routines and family conversations.
- The way loved ones respond to health concerns.
- Nutritional choices and meal preparation.
- Proactive scheduling of checkups.
Children and grandchildren learn from those examples. To me, generational wellness means helping one person take better care of their health in a way that influences how their entire family thinks about prevention, care, and quality of life.
A Place to Be Heard
Many people seek care because they know something feels “off,” even if they have been told their labs are normal, their symptoms are expected, or they just need to push through.
I created Generation Wellness for patients who need more than a quick answer. I wanted them to have a place where they feel heard, where their concerns are taken seriously, and where they receive care that helps them move toward better health.
What to Expect from This Blog
I hope this blog becomes a place where you feel informed and encouraged. In future posts, I will share information about:
- Hormones and metabolic health
- Aging and weight loss
- Sexual wellness and preventive care
- Everyday choices for long-term well-being
Some posts may help you better understand symptoms you have been experiencing, while others may give you specific questions to ask at your next visit. Good health shows up in everyday life—it affects your energy, confidence, and ability to respond to concerns before they become harder to manage.
I hope each post gives you something useful, whether that is a clearer understanding of your body or the encouragement to take one small step toward feeling better for yourself and the generations to come.
Welcome to Generation Wellness. I am honored to be part of your journey.
